Laslty, if NI cant do anything to help, would it still be worth it? I am confident its not stolen, but what are the limitations to the board other than having no warranty? No Support? Are Hardware System updates a limitation? is that even a thing with these boards? What are the downsides to this im missing?
Does anyone have any updated news about situations like this? Have they changed policy regarding releasing serials for hardware? I have also read NI has since updated the policy in these situation, but cant find details. That said, I read of one situation where the owner refused to respond, and NI didnt have any options to help. My understanding is that NI can reach out to the registered owner and ask them to release registration.

By using Native Acces and trying to register the hardware serial (the only serial we have) we know its registered already, but since NI doesnt work on the weekends, i wont get word for a few days. I have spoken at length to the guy selling the board, explained the situation, and we are waiting on NI to reply to a ticket, so we are trying to do this properly. Problem is the hardware serial has been registered, and there is no other serials or product info that come with this board.
